Nigerian Defence Academy Postgraduate Admission Requirements

The Nigerian Defence Academy has different requirements for its postgraduate programs. Below are the details:

Postgraduate Diploma Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any recognized university.
  • Those with a Higher National Diploma (HND) must have at least a Lower Credit pass and meet the academy’s entry requirements.

Master’s Degree Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any recognized university. They must have at least a Second Class Lower (Lower Division) in a relevant field.
  • Candidates with a Postgraduate Diploma from NDA must have a minimum GPA of 4.0 (on a 5-point scale) to apply for a Master’s Degree.
  • For a Professional Master’s Degree, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 5-point scale).

MPhil/PhD Degree Programme Requirements

  • This program is for candidates with a CGPA between 3.2 and 3.5 (on a 5-point scale) or at least 60% in their previous studies.
  • It is a full-time program that lasts between 12 to 24 months.
  • Students must write and submit a dissertation before completing the program.
  • Those who perform well in the MPhil program may be allowed to continue to a PhD program.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Lower) and a Master’s degree in a related field.
  • They must have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or a B grade in their Master’s degree.
  • The Master’s degree must be from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any recognized university.
