FUPRE Admission Requirements for UTME and Direct Entry Candidates
There are two ways to gain admission into the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE): UTME (JAMB) and Direct Entry (DE). Below are the requirements for both entry methods.
UTME (JAMB) Admission Requirements
To apply through JAMB UTME, you must:
- Have at least five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in subjects related to your course. These must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your course. If you select the wrong subjects, you may not qualify.
- Score at least 180 in JAMB UTME (some courses require higher scores; check the table above).
- Select FUPRE as your First Choice in JAMB. The university does not accept Second Choice candidates.
- Take part in the FUPRE post-UTME screening, as your performance will affect your chances of admission.
- Be at least 16 years old at the time of admission.
Direct Entry (DE) Admission Requirements
To apply through Direct Entry (DE), you must:
- Have at least five (5) credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in subjects related to your course, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Have at least two (2) A-Level/IJMB passes in relevant subjects.
- Candidates with JUPEB/A-Level passes in related subjects can also apply.
- If you have a First-Class or Second-Class Upper degree in a related field, you may be eligible for direct admission into a higher level.
- Purchase the FUPRE Direct Entry (DE) form through JAMB and also register on the FUPRE admission portal.
- If you hold an NCE, ND, or any other Advanced Level Certificate, you must have at least a Merit Pass to be considered.
