Who Can Apply for Postgraduate Programs at Federal University Dutsin-Ma

General Rules for Admission

• You must have an NYSC discharge or exemption paper before you can apply.
• If you have a PASS grade in any school level (Degree, PGD, HND, or OND), you cannot apply for PhD, Master’s, or PGD courses.
• If your diploma result is below 2.50 CGPA, you cannot apply for a Master’s course.
• The final decision to give you admission will be made by the Postgraduate School Board.
• People who studied science courses before are usually given more chance.
• For Master’s courses, you must do both classwork and research. You will also have to defend your final research before you can finish the program. There are no special cases or skipping this.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Program Requirements

To apply for a PGD program, you must meet one of the following:

• You must have a Third Class Degree in a related course.
• Or, you must have an HND or OND with Lower Credit in a related course and at least one year of work experience.

PhD Program Requirements

To apply for a PhD program:

• You must have a Master’s Degree from Federal University of Technology, Minna, or from any other approved school.
• The school may also accept similar qualifications, if the Senate agrees.
• You must have a CGPA of at least 3.50 on a 5.00 scale, or a ‘B’ grade, or 60% average in your Master’s course.
• If your past study area does not match the PhD course you choose, you may need to study extra courses. The department will decide which ones based on the school’s rules.

Master’s Degree Program Requirements

To apply for a Master’s Degree, you must meet one of the following:

• You must have a Second Class Lower (2:2) Degree from Federal University of Technology, Minna, or from any approved university.
• If you have a Third Class Degree, you must also have at least two years of work experience. Some departments may ask you to write an exam before you get in.
• If you have an HND with Lower Credit and also a PGD with Lower Credit in a related course, plus one year of work after graduation, you may also be allowed to apply.

1. Go to this website: pgs.fudutsinma.edu.ng/apply
2. Fill in your details
3. Click on “Start Application”
4. You will get an email with your Application Number and Email
5. Open the email with the title “Your Application Details”
6. Click the link in the email to check and confirm your account
7. Now, go back to the website and log in using your Application Number and Email
8. Create and pay your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR)
9. After paying, check your email for “Payment Confirmation”
10. If the payment says PENDING, click on “Refresh Status”
11. Once your payment shows as confirmed, log in again to finish and submit your form
